. that suspect saw dozens of officers there and surrendered. >> amazing video. >>> 4:31 now. a san francisco police sergeant is under investigation over over a video on facebook. in elizabeth wenger is in san francisco with the video that was recorded. >>> this video all over the net. it makes you think why would a san francisco cop ever do this to begin with? we should know he is changing his story now but that video essentially shows the driver starting here at larkin and broadway going through, gunning it through the broadway tunnel, all the way towards chinatown. let's check out that video now. [ sound of engine revving ] >> reporter: so that's the clip of what was posted on the sergeant's page. it appears to show him driving 100 miles per hour in a lamborghini through the broadway tunnel in just seconds. now, there's no way to actually identify who is driving but in the comments section of his facebook page, he even bragged, we were all drunk. folks we talked to say they were mostly shocked. >> there is no points for being smart. >> probably not the smartest thing for someone to do espe
have firefighters and san francisco police here on scene. they were able to cap whatever that break was, that water main break over here. let me tell you how it happened. we have video from earlier. you can see just how high the water was gushing. just before 4:00 this morning san francisco police were trying to pull over a car for a minor traffic violation and then that car crashed into a fire hydrant. right now it is a suspected dui. we were told this basically san francisco police tried to pull over that car right around 4th and howard and the driver crashed at folsom and essex. the driver was taken into custody. we aren't sure if that driver sustained any injuries. earlier on footage we were able to see the driver being taken away in some kind of neck brace. we aren't sure about the status of that driver at this point in time. but we had unconfirmed reports that that car over there in that corner is actually a rental car so we don't know where the driver is from. we hope to get more information. i think my photographer made a good point, hopefully that driver had insurance. it appea

and a man are under arrest for a mysterious murder in san francisco. 26-year-old steven reed was found bound and gagged on the city streets sunday night. he had been shot and died a few hours later. an 18-year-old woman was seriously injured at the same time. police are not saying what led them to the suspects at a home in hercules. >> it was established that there was an extensive relationship between the victims and the suspect in this case. i cannot get into details about the relationships. >> police are still trying to determine where the victims were injured and whether there are any more suspects. a neighbor says investigators took a computer and a mattress from the apartments of one of the suspects. >>> the man accused of kidnapping and killing 15-year- old sierra lamar is facing new charges in santa clara county court this morning. antolin garcia-torres is accused of trying to carjack three different women i 2009. he was 17 but will be charged as an adult. it all happened in safeway park lots in morgan hill. >>> fire protection is going to be stretched a little thinner contra costa c
last night. cbs 5 reporter cate caugiran is in san francisco with information on this morning's commute. >> reporter: it's going to be tricky for commuters this morning. most of those underground muni trains will be running with a few exceptions. the n-judah and the j-church will be modified. so commuters will need to make modifications. all underground muni trains were shut down last night. a spokesman for the transit group says a blown transformer caused the muni meltdown around 6 p.m. the peak of evening commute. >> apparently it was damaged with water damage from yesterday. >> we waited in the subway and, of course, they never tell you how long it's going to be. >> reporter: this morning, commuters on the j and n lines, they will run a modified service. this is so workers can correct an electrical system. muni had a lot on its hands yesterday. we're still unsure about a wheelchair-bound woman's condition this morning. she suffered life-threatening injuries after being hit by f market train at church and market. police are still investigating how this happened. and now goin

-50s in oakland. 53 in san francisco. 54 out in vallejo. and the rain makes the comeback here coming up shortly by the end of the week. so we'll show you a look at the seven-day forecast. we're talking traffic. here's gianna. >> we are going to head to our bay area bridge and you can see not too bad so far, so good as you work your way towards the toll plaza. we had some early morning roadwork on the upper deck between the cantilever section and fremont. that should be wrapped at least by 5:00. the rest of your bay area bridges problem-free including the golden gate bridge just north of there though south 101 near sir francis drake two lanes shut down for construction. that will be there at least until 6:00. but you can see the golden gate bridge smooth sailing into san francisco. the dumbarton bridge both directions only one lane open looks like you might see some slight delays. that should be wrapped up by 5:00 this morning as well. use the san mateo bridge as an alternate. also 880 not showing any delays north- or southbound. we have some roadwork reported in both directions right

in california are awaiting the supreme court decision that could come today. annanne makovec is in san francisco and she joins us with more. >> reporter: even by not making a decision, the supreme court is essentially making a decision ask a lot of people here and waiting to find out what's going to happen today. the u.s. supreme court is scheduled to review whether or not it will review the constitutionality of prop 8. that is the ban on same sex marriage. the pro prop 8 side is appealing, the 9th u.s. circuit court of appeals which found the ban unconstitutional. it's one of several cases across the country concerning the federal defensive marriage act. >> the court has been waiting to gather all 10 of cases together and they're going to make a decision, either grant a review in some of them, all of them, none of them. they could do anything. >> reporter: if they decide not to review the case, same sex weddings could resume as soon as the 9th circuit says osteo. says -- so. we don't know how long that is going to take. they have no deadline for acting on these cases but this is their last conf

after a hit-and-run accident in san francisco. it happened last night at about 9:00 on christmas tree point in the twin peaks area. police say there were four people walking on the road and three fell down about 30 feet down a hillside. paramedics had to use back boards and ropes to carry a rescue. police found a car with fender damage a short distance away, detained the driver. there had been four people inside the car. one of them was hurt in the crash. the driver was detained, police are evaluating whether he was impaired at the time of the accident. the four pedestrians hit include a woman in her 50s with life-threatening injuries. >> all three of them went to the hospital. one has life-threatening injuries. the other two have less serious injuries. >> okay. now, this is the hit-and-run, anything about the suspect? >> right. so the suspect driver and car were found a couple of hundred yards way by our officers within minutes of the incident. >> there is no sidewalk in the area of the accident. >>> newtown, connecticut will observe a moment of silence this morning in honor of the
